Marius R. Perron, The Margarita Man's grandfather, established The Panama Vinegar and Cider Company in San Antonio back in 1899. He bottled soda-water in a variety of flavors, vinegars, cider and also bluing used by the homemaker in those days to whiten clothes. He was a stickler for quality in everything he sold.
Nearly a century later his grandson Laurent Perron started developing a more natural tasting line of bar mixes. Natural, because he vowed to use natural flavors, when available, and real fruit purees, and in the tradition of his grandfather, to always insist on quality. In 1986 his Margarita Man line of mixes were introduced at the annual Southwest Foodservice Expo.
